Bringewood Round 3
Got packing my stuff ready for the weekend Friday night and I couldn't begin to tell you how much I just wanted to ride. In fact, I can - I was so excited, I made sure i was tucked up in bed by 9.00pm so when i woke up next it would be morning. But i was so excited, i couldn't sleep... hmm....
Practice soon came about and the track looked good - with the exception of the fact, it was really muddy! When I started riding it, at first it was dead frustrating because i wanted to go faster but the mud make it almost impossible for me without sliding out! As more riders came down, the track soon dried out slightly and by the end, I was having tons of laughs and fun! That's what its all about!! I began to enjoy riding and slidding and I think it helped, otherwise, I would have been so easy to have got pissed off!
Saturday night was spent by ordering a curry from a local curry house - to our delight - they delivered!! But they didn't do beer - but the delivery guy got us some from the off-license!! What a legend! So with some beer and curry out night was set! We went into the marquee at 7:30pm to watch the new seasons DVD. I struggled to keep my eyes open - not because the film was crap - cos actually it was really good! I was tired :)
My first race run went ok. I pretty much took it steady as the conditions weren't good and so i just wanted to get a time down that i would improve on later. I recently read an interview i think from Fionn Griffiths about how she focuses ready for a race run. She had said that at 10 seconds she smiles and good things happen - I tried it to see and it worked!!
Second run, well is another story! Poor Monet Adams crashed and knocked herself out - so i was stopped in my run by red flag. Pushed to the top to have a re-run. Haha, but i then crashed same place as Monet!! I waited for two riders to go to make sure i was still intact - then carried on.
Pretty pissed off with myself for crashing - could have easily been avoided but never mind! Thats racing!! hahahaha.
Only one in my category so i won that! And came 4th out of 13 girls (i was second fastest non-elite) beaten by one second by my team mate and best mate Emma Wareham - go the Trek-extreme girls!!!!!!!
